Autographs and selfies welcome

Late on Tuesday evening, Swiss fans once again had special reason to cheer: the women's doubles team of Lucie Amiguet/Caroline Racloz (BC Zurich/Badminton Lausanne Association) fought a close battle with Thailand's Hathaithip Mijad/Napapakorn Tungkasatan, which the local heroes ultimately lost 19:21, 13:21.

"The atmosphere was really nice. It's always nice to play in Switzerland. It was well attended, especially for a Tuesday. We wanted to play longer, but unfortunately we couldn't handle the pressure in the first set. We were leading by a wide margin at one point. But you always learn a lot from games like this," said Lucie Amiguet after her first encounter with the Asian pair. The Swiss duo had advanced from the qualifiers to the main draw and were delighted to be asked for autographs and selfies by numerous young fans after the match.
