Top-class badminton is once again on the agenda in Basel.

From 21 to 26 March, numerous world-class players will compete at the Swiss Open in Basel. In the men's singles, six top 10 players will compete against the reigning Olympic champion, world champion and world number one, Viktor Axelsen from Denmark. Special attention will also be paid to the 21-year-old Thai player Kunlavut Vitidsarn, who defeated Axelsen for the first time in January after six defeats. In the women's singles, five of the top ten players are competing, including the best European, the Spanish Olympic champion from Rio, Carolina Marin, as well as two other world champions: Ratchanok Intanon from Thailand and Pusarla Venkata Sindhu. The Indian player, who is a megastar in her home country, feels particularly at home in Basel, where she won the Swiss Open last year and the World Championship gold medal in 2019. The level in the doubles competitions is also very high.

Thanks to wild cards, Swiss players will also be represented in the main draw in all categories, including Jenny Stadelmann (WS), Tobias Künzi (MS), Arthur Boudier/Minh Quang Pham (MD), Aline Müller/Caroline Racloz (WD) and Nicolas A. Müller/Ronja Stern (XD).
